It's Time to Say Goodbye :(

I cannot believe it! Our time here at Hardin Ridge for this year has come to an end. We will leave in the morning and have to say good bye to everyone who has come to mean so very much to us. The time here has gone by so fast. When we came and talked with Al and Dee in July and they explained all that we would be doing it sounded like work. But we were OK with that because we didn't want to sit around and do nothing after Art retired.  Well I'll be honest, we worked but boy it sure didn't feel like work. It was fun! How could it seem like work when you were around this.

I took a drive on Pine Loop yesterday and there she was standing there to say good bye I felt. I am going to miss the animals, but especially the deer the most. Some of them seem like they know me when I drive up on them, but I suppose that is wishful thinking. I wanted to get so many pictures of them while we were here just in case they don't make it through the winter, I wanted to be able to remember them. Their beauty in this forest is unmatchable by any other object. The trust that they show us humans is remarkable.  Not only will I miss the deer but I will miss the turkeys and the challenge of trying to capture them on film. It is like viewing something from my grandparents days when seeing them in the wild. I asked Art what his favorite thing about this camphosting has been and we both agreed, the beautiful nature we have been privileged to live in for 2 1/2 months, but mostly all the wonderful people we have meant. Al and Dee, thank you for giving us this opportunity to come and be a part of Hardin Ridge with you. Your generosity and your care and love for all of us has been overwhelming. Al you were a great boss...hee hee :) and thanks for letting me drive your Pontoon boat.  Kevin and Mickey, you have been wonderful to laugh with and to work along side of! I know our friendship will be there for a long time. Donnie, you are a sweet and gentle soul, and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to have met and worked with you. Karl and Vickie, thanks for all the fun times playing cards, the help with our electrical problems and the good food you cooked. Wayne and Terena, your fellowship and love of crocheting I will always remember. Oh and thanks for getting me my first snake picture here:)  Pete and Terry, you two have placed a mark on our hearts  and your sense of humor Terry and that accent, well I just won't forget it. Tom and Joyce, even though we weren't together long we just connected and I am so thankful we are staying in touch. Tom, can't wait for another game of Euchre with you what laughs we had right?  Carl and Ann, thank you for believing in us to help get us a Florida job; that meant so much to Art and me. We sure hope we get to hosts together again someday maybe FL??  Billy and Betty, your southern charm was a breath of fresh air., and to have the same date for our anniversary was something special! And Robert it was a pleasure sharing Southern Point when we first arrived, thanks for the firewood. May God keep each one of you in His care until we meet again.

This is the beauty of the forest we got to see when coming back to our trailer. Now tell me how many people have that view when going to work??

Tonight Al and Dee took us out to eat for an ''end of the season'' dinner.  It was so much fun and the food was just awesome.   We then came back and played cards and laughed until my stomach felt like I had done 100 sit ups.

Clockwise is:  Mickey, Vickie, Dee, Al, Karl, Art, Kevin and Donnie.
We sure hate to say good bye to everyone here but we are so anxious to get home to Hannah. And we will see our little grand daughter Meredith, and Lindsay and Tom on Wed. It seems like it has been months since we have seen them. That is what makes this so hard you want to stay but you want to go. All I can say is if you have ever considered camp hosting or workkamping~~~~DO IT!! It is an experience you need to try at least once if you have the chance. You may not be able to live full time in an RV but the friends and opportunities you will have will be with you for a life time.  So Good bye Hardin Ridge ''for now'' but we will be back in April 2013 :)

Tomorrow we ride off into the sunset.

PS~ Keep checking as I have so many pictures and experiences that I want to blog when we get home from here. So until the next blog.......for the last time...

So From Hardin Ridge we send Hugs and Best Wishes
