That's It....I'm Done In!!!

I'm tired, I'm feeling sick physically and I'm just done! I feel like I can't make "another" decision.  Do you want this? Where should I put it? Do you want this? Where does it go? Which cabinet? What drawer? Questions, decisions, questions, decisions.......
If this house were 200 ft bigger I would just load it all up and go, wouldn't even take the time to look through it. I think we are all getting tired physically and so we are getting grouchy and then the time is narrowing down fast and so emotionally things are starting to come into our minds. We are in NO way regretting our decision or changing our minds but I think having a wedding and moving out of your house into an RV within 3 months of each other is a little nuts. And not only is going through everything we own getting to us this is too, the mess.....

Dan and Hannah had their bridal shower on Sunday so all that was at the church came home to our table, and floors. I don't mind it is just that our house is getting in such a mess.
Remember the picture where the computer desk was disassembled and moved out...

Picture on the right shows what moved in to take it's place.
And making things worse is the cabinet handles are missing. See in above left picture. Hannah removed them all to repaint them. I don't know how many times I have went to open a cabinet door or pull out the drawer only to grab onto air. And now that all the handles are finished, time to start on the cabinet fronts themselves. Isn't this lovely....

And where are all your cabinet fronts you ask??? How about on the driveway drying.

Hannah sanded them all down and then is reapplying Polyurethane. They will be pretty.
I forgot to include a picture of something I did in the RV. I made little bulletin boards out of the ends of the cabinets. You can buy the squares at Walmart and then you can stick them on or glue them. I then cut off the ends of straight sewing pins, as I didn't want to use thumb tacks, they would be too long and scratch up the wood. I did this in our old RV and we used it all the time, it came in handy for saving receipts or phone numbers we didn't want to loose.

I will leave you with something pretty. While in the RV I looked out and saw our male Cardinal, Louis on the feeder, and then on the ground. He is a pain always on our mirrors on our vehicles. We have to put old hats on them to keep him off. But we love him anyway :)

Before I go I wanted to leave you with some information I heard on the news last night. Remember the Barney picture that I received from George and Laura Bush? It you remember I mentioned the 43 painted in the right hand corner, well that is because HE painted it and that is the way he signs his paintings. They said since the Presidency he has been painting portraits of dogs and people. Isn't that cool?  Made the painting even more special.
                                               Take care all from Indiana.

    1. Thanks Gypsy, I know we will but boy are we getting pooped out. Seemed like there for awhile we were almost done but then we hit the kitchen, oh my.
I'm glad you liked the card from the Bushes' it was really neat to get.

  2. Take a really deep breath, sit down and have a glass or wine, or just watch something funny on Tv. I know just how you feel. When we got to the point where we couldn't make one more decision, we just started shoving things into the storage shed to worry about later. Wish we hadn't done that now, but at the time it was all we could do.

    You'll get there. I promise.

    Love Louis the cardinal.

    1. Thank you Karen. It does help to have people who have been there and done that to give you advice and encouragement. We do just that, sit down and watch something funny, believe me if I could drink wine I would :) Isn't Louis cute? He is named after the St. Louis Cardinals, my Dad's favorite team.

  3. It will all come to past and when you adjust to your new life style all of this will only be a memory. I hope tha you can get some rest.

We have cardinals at our place too since three years ago but they never attack our car or truck mirrors. I think that it's sweet to name your cardinals.

You have a treasure in your Barney picture. I'm sure that it's a limited edition...
    Hugs,

    1. Thank you Julia, I figured I would post how I am feeling so like what you said it will be a memory someday. Wouldn't want to forget this now would we?

I don't know why he attacks ours, but he scratches them really bad and poops all over them. He is named after the St. Louis Cardinals, my Dad's favorite team.

    1. Thanks so much Gay and Joe, it will be sweet and I am ready to sit down and rest. Really rest! But I am going to miss Hannah :( But it will get better when she is married and I don't have to worry about her any longer here by herself. Thanks for the support!

  5. This too shall pass. Believe me I know about the exhaustion and emotional roller coaster. But it is so worth it when you finally do get out on the road. So hang in there.

    1. Thanks Judy, we are hanging in there but it seems like it has been going on so long. But it is almost over.
      Whew!

  7. Take a break. Go see a movie or go out to dinner to relax.
Louis - love it! When I was in Northern Ky, I had a bird that kept attacking himself in my mirrors! That doesn't happen here, fortunately. The Cardinals are shy & fly away when they notice people.
The cabinets will look great! And I like the bulletin board.

    1. Thank you Cyn we need to do just that!

I wish Louis was shy, our mirrors do to. He has been doing this for at least 3-4 yrs, little devil.

Yes, I know they will look great, Hannah is doing all the work so I shouldn't be complaining. :)
Glad you like it, we use it all the time and it wasn't anything to do.

    1. Thanks Merikay, I'm glad going through this is giving you hope, we are always going to remember this time as we went through it together. When we hit the road, it won't be long until you will be right there with us.

  9. Hg in there. I would say go and spend a night in your RV. Close the shades so you can't see that you are sitting in your yard. Pretend you are on the road and parked at a real nice location.....but then I remember, it is still cold where you live.

    1. Actually we have talked about doing that exact thing. Spending the night in it, will kind of give us a new feeling and maybe some more strength. Thanks for the encouragement.

  10. You'l1 get through all these decision, decisions decisions. And you will feel like weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Very freeing feeling. We've been out a year this month. I think it's time to go ahead a try to dig further and clean out those things that we still haven't used. Really like your new home. - Joan

    1. Thank you Joan, I know we will. It just seems like I have hit a plateau and I'm so tired (mostly mentally)
but I am getting tired of going in and out of the RV steps. I am sure after a year you find things you still haven't used. Thank you I'm glad you like it, we do too :)

  11. Well - I probably shouldn't say this, but could your daughter have waited until you moved out to start on the cupboards??? Don't hate me! But it seems like you have enough on your plate right new. I learned long ago that 'selfish' can be a very good word.

Try to take it easier and take some time for yourself. From your selfish friend, Barbara. :)

    1. I could never hate you!! The reason she did them before is she needed her Dad's help as he built the cabinets. And she said she wanted to do them so we could enjoy them when she had them finished. I should post a picture of the done project. It was uncomfortable for 3 days but we made it. And they do look really nice. I have been taking easier and not pushing myself as much. From your appreciative friend.
