Less Than "24" Hours....

And no that is not a movie I am recommending.  It is about us. You know the people sitting here waiting for Saturday to arrive so we can leave. I have so many butterflies in my stomach, and they are getting worse by the hour. Art and I had to run to Walmart to buy a few groceries and when were driving home I asked him if his stomach was in knots and he said yes. I was surprised. This is a man who is cool as a cucumber, never gets excited over much of anything. I felt better that he was suffering too :))  I told him I don't know how it is possible to have so many emotions all at once.  Happy, sad, excited, nervous, thrilled, terrified, all "rolled into one."  One minute I am so excited, the next I am so sad, (thinking about leaving Hannah) then I'm thrilled, then terrified (whole knew life, leaving our home of 19 yrs).  I know once we get on the road tomorrow we will feel better, it is just that initial break.

We were outside getting things hooked up.....

I guess this is the way it goes now. Art stands around and watches future SIL, Dan work on the vehicles. He was adding air to the inner tires.  Now Art claims it was easier for him because he was smaller.  Huh?  I think I'll try that next time I have a job to do that I have to get down on my knees for LOL

When the air compressor would come on Jeb, the turkey would fluff all up and gobble. Any loud sound makes him do that. Funny guy.......

"Hey, it is my bedtime, cut out the noise will ya!"  He goes to bed early just like chickens.

As I was taking pictures of Mr. Jeb here the sunset was just gorgeous.  Had to take one last photo of the sun here on the farm.  Next time they will be down on the lake.
I loved the old fence, the bare trees all shapes and sizes, and the orange sky.

I don't know if I will be able to post a blog tomorrow.  It will take us a few hours to get to Hardin Ridge, then several hours to get set up, get our gear to work, and then we will collapse.  I will post one as soon as I can though.

For all the cat lovers out there, I took a picture of Hannah's cat, Skyler while sitting on her lap. He was taking his paw and hitting her Great Dane, Savannah on the head as she walked by them. Brave cat when he is on his mama's lap.....not on her lap, stupid.

Jeb says this is his best side...:)

So from Thorntown for the last time.....best wishes and take care everyone. Bye!

    1. Thank you! After we get there tomorrow we will hopefully be able to sit and relax a while. This month of March has been so much work, wow, I didn't think it was going to be this much. Guess we had too much stuff. I'm sure your life is wonderful. Arizona sounds so exciting in itself.

  2. I'm also jealous - all of those emotions I felt back when we started. Such a wonderful time. I still get all excited when we get ready to move someplace, but it's not quite the same as that first time.

    1. I hope one day I can look back and feel jealous of someone. But right now I don't ever want to go through this again. The emotions have been exciting but oh so rough. I'll be glad to be able to settle down and relax some.

  3. One day I will be writing some of the same things. In a way you are very lucky, because although you say you will have to sell the house if your daughter doesn't buy it, you still have a year long option of coming back to it if you decide full timing isn't what you want.

Hope your travels will be easy and tomorrow nights sleep will be safe and warm.

    1. I know you will Merikay and it will be sooner than you think I hope for you. I can't imagine ever wanting to come back. Since we did camphosting last summer of over 3 months we know what we are in for. We won't be coming back to this house even if we don't stay on the road. We can't afford it or keep up the work it requires. Thank you, I appreciate your good wishes.

    1. Thanks BJ, I hope we don't have to break up and down too much. We have been campers for 30 yrs so we can do that pretty fast. We want to stay in one place for a few months and then move on. Of course I know hitch itch will happen and we will move on. Thank you and Happy Easter to you too.

    1. If we are just camping we can be set up in about the same amount of time but not coming here. To many folks stopping by to say hi and welcome. But hey no worries now we have all the time in the world....right???
Thanks, and thanks again for the recipe.

  9. I remember that feeling well! We had six weeks inbetween leaving NY and our first workamp job, and it was a blur of re-organization of the trailer, visiting folks, sleeping!(sheer exhaustion from the final prep to leave)and bundles of nerves over what we did. Its all good though. There are a few things I'd like to change about our departure, but it all worked out in the end.
