Just a Quick Update.....13 days left

Not much to tell other than the same old thing. Still going through remaining items in the house, seems like they just keep multiplying, where does it all come from??? Hannah was going through a drawer the other day and she was asking do you want this? "no", this? "no",  thi? didn't even get it out "no, no, no."  I hope I don't regret it but I don't want anything else! I said if you don't want it put it in Good Will.  There is just so much we can't do until the last minute and that is killing me. We have 13 days left,  and this week is full. Doctor apts, birthday party, getting a new cell phone, oil change for the truck, groceries for the RV, I'm just tired thinking about it.  All we seem to be doing is waiting and thinking, waiting and thinking. I am glad this week will be full so I can't think as much, although night time is what gets me. I am starting to think of all the memories that were created here at this house. The fact that we aren't selling it right off helps so much.  My nerves are pretty much shot, I have no energy, no appetite, just want to sit or sleep. I don't want to give the impression I am regretting this decision because I am not we are not, just ready for it to get going and all "this" to get over with. The last time I remember feeling this way was when we moved into here 19 yrs ago.  Still wanting to write my feelings down as it helps so much, especially your comments, you guys have been so supportive. Thank you so much!
The last time I posted the kitchen was mess. Hannah did a great job refinishing the cabinets, and here is what they look like now....

Art built these for me one year for an anniversary present.  We saw them in a log cabin and I fell in love with them. He made them out of Cedar.

Just upper cabinets. And my heart shelf is bare.

Emma says, "I like my new kitchen."  " Don't you?"

Bindi says, " I could care less, and you all take care out there."

  1. Hi Tammy, this whirl wind of packing and purging and making preparation to live your retired dream is getting closer and by simplifying your life now will make it so much easier later.

I can't wait to see you feeling relaxed. At least you can choose what you no longer need unlike a hurricane victim who ha everything taken away from them wether they need it or not. Take a deep breath .. Writing all your feeling down is a good idea I think.

We let things tug at our heart and they are just things but memories is something else.

It will all come to pass.

    Hugs,
    JB

    1. Thank you Julia, I know it will, as I sure will never have THIS much stuff ever again. I can't wait to feel relaxed, seems like the nerves just keep getting worse and worse, as the time gets closer it just gets worse.
You are so right they are just things and I am not having trouble getting rid of things I'm just tired of the things. The thing I am having trouble with is leaving the home and Hannah.

  2. Aaah how well I remember the stress. Tomorrow will be our one year anniversary since leaving Florida. It will get better. What you will come to realize is how little you really need to live. I know that when the time comes for us to move back into a home, it will be much more simplistic!

    Just relax and breathe!

    1. I know there are several out there who remember the feeling and that is where you guys help so much. Being there and done that type of things. Oh I know little is my new mind set. Never again am I going to go through all this stuff again. Ever move back into a house I want a bed, 2 chairs, a table no knick knacks. Thanks so much for the support! I appreciate it so much.

  3. Well the dogs looked relaxed! I know this is a hard time, but I'd rather be there than wondering if it will ever happen at all. We went thru our slide collection yesterday. We took slides for about ten years. Of the two thousand or so we re keeping and scanning a few hundred. Craig is doing it. I'm glad i a way, but the time he is taking to do this is being taken away from time he could be working on the house. We can get away without pictures, but not until the house is ready to go on the market!

Does it ever end? Yes in 13 days for you.

    1. So funny Merikay, love that comment. Yes, they don't have much to go through :) Oh wow 2,000 slides that will take lots of time. I know it takes so much time to work on a house. It WILL happen for you too I just know it will, then we will be talking about all your stress. Thanks Merikay, I appreciate your comments.
      Take care.

  4. I think everyone who is or ever has lived in their RV has started out in a state you are in right now. You will get through it and be stronger for it. I miss my house which I sold in 2008, but I had to do it. Hang in there - you are close to the finish line.

    1. I'm sure you are right, there is no way you can take all from a house into an RV, wouldn't even want to!
I don't know how I will feel if we have to sell our house to someone other than Dan and Hannah. Thanks Gypsy, I appreciate the support.

  5. 1-1/2 years on the road for us. We remember how hectic our lives were when we had to sell our house, sell our belongings, give them away, donate them or, unfortunately, take some to the dump. Then we had to pack up the remaining to ship from Hawaii to Portland, Oregon. We had to find a used 5th wheel and truck in a very short time frame. Life was crazy then. It's all recorded in my blog.

You will be so happy you kept a written record!

Hang in there, the time is close!

    1. Oh my gosh after reading what you went through ours seems simple. I have been told that more than once to write it down so I am. At least we have the RV and truck already. I guess I will laugh at this one day right? Thank you Susan I appreciate the support.

  6. Waiting for something to happen can be physically and emotionally draining. Only 13 days to go. Hang in there - won't be long now.

  7. There's so many emotions to go through. These seem to attack when you are dead tired & finally lay down for the night. You close your eyes, then BING! They open with all the senseless worries! I know, I do this nearly every night. The cabinets look wonderful! Poor Bindi, ya'll wore her out with all your work! You'll get there. Why not get the groceries on the way out once you hit the road? Where do ya'll plan on heading first?

    1. Hi Cyn, you are so right! I close my eyes and then bing they open...with oh I forgot this or that, and so on. And you are right also, senseless. I keep a tablet by my bed so I can write something down and then I can let it go until morning. Ya, the dogs are so worn out, they really are following us around. We talked about doing the groceries but then we have the dogs to deal with and so we thought we would just get them the first of the week.
Ok first we go to Hoosier National Forest to host, then to Turkey Run State Park (here in IN) for one month, then back to Hardin Ridge in the Forest, (IN) then to NC or SC not sure yet on that one. Then we go to FL from Jan-March, then back here for 2 months and then next summer to Virgina. Are you worn out yet??? I am. But thankful to have all the plans ironed out. Thanks for the comment.

  9. We sold up everything last spring and spend the winter in Mexico (La Cruz) and the summers in our fifth wheel so we're not moving around as we already did that a few years ago....what we're doing now works for us.....but I still miss our house etc...it's gonna take awhile to get over that part (we rent a 3 bedroom place here) so it all takes time......Sometimes I think back and can't believe we've 'done it' after talking about it for 5 years!!!Marilyn

    1. Welcome to the blog...
It is so nice to hear from others who have made this big step in there lives. We will not be traveling around alot as we are camp hosting most of the time.
I hope I don't miss our house that is one thing I am worried about. I know I can't believer it is here for us either. Do you have a blog??

    3. That' ok that you don't. Some people just like to read them. Sometimes it takes alot of time to do them and so I know it can add stress to some people's lives. Our daughters love it and so we do it so they can see our pictures and hear what we have been doing.

  10. Just look at that beautiful picture in your blog header. Take a deep breath and try to relax. You'll get it all done...of course it might just kill you (just kidding).

We closed on our house almost 2 years ago and I still can remember all those feelings.

Hang in there and have a good stiff drink!

    1. Thanks Karen, Yes thinking back to last year does help. Makes me realize what is coming for us, relaxation and less stress for sure. Yes, some days it feels like it just might :))

Hearing from all of you fulltimers helps so much, know you made it!

I wish I could drink I would love a Margarita but I can't due to a heart medication I take. That would surely relax me some. Oh well, it will end soon.
