Great Dane's New Dog Toy and I Get Caught in a Lie.....

Ok I lied, we are not done. The stuff just seems to keep coming. Yesterday, we finished one room, the school room/sewing room. I ended up going through about 100 buttons pulling out what I wanted, and Hannah was naming off books...you want this one, "yes", how about this one, "no."  Art took the truck and went to Good Will to empty it.....again.
You know all I see when boxes and bags go out $$$$$$.  I sure wish we would have come to this mind set of simple living years ago. I hate knick knacks so there is not much of that to go, as I didn't buy much and the family didn't give me many for gifts.  I hated dusty them! So I really don't know what it all is. Alot of it came from the garage, just things that you don't know what to do with it and so you take it to the garage.   And today we went through pictures, taking them out of frames, and storing the photos. The house is really beginning to look bare. It is a little sad to think this part of our lives is ending.  One part that is not sad is this.....

Does this look like a couple inches.  We got around 5.  It was deep and heavy.
Remember that bush that I said looked like lace? Well after a few more inches of snow it now looks like this.....Mashed!

Moving out of your house into and RV and then having a wedding in a little over 2 months is nuts! But we will get through it all. Even if we were not going full time we needed to do this anyway. I sure wouldn't want the kids to have to do this for us one day. We had to do that with my parents and it was not fun. Going through years and years of 'things' and what to do with it all??? When Hannah lured me upstairs to help her go through a closet she came across a big, huge, fluffy dog that she didn't want any longer. So we tossed it down the stairs to take to Good Will. But Savannah, her Great Dane, had other ideas. She latched onto it as her new dog toy, and finally one 'her' size :)

I go out into the trailer and I get such a sense of peace and reassurance that this is what we were meant to do. I already fell like I am at home and we haven't even lived in it yet.
But the inside of the house is getting more of an unlived in look. :(

It is beautiful outside, like a winter wonderland, but I will sure be glad to see little green leaves and less of the white stuff.  I hope to have some pictures of the fifth wheel in the next few days. It will be already to go and looking the way it will when we live in it. But until then you get more "white stuff."  :))

    1. Hi Carolyn, I know...I wonder how that happened??? Gee Dan it is all your fault (Hannah's fiance) :)
I used to love snow but now that I'm getting older not so much.
I sure hope we have loads of fun after all this stress.

  2. Craig is finally ready to start tossing things. He was reluctant for a long time, but thins Are starting to be moved out. We still have a couple of big rpair projects to get thru, so I doubt we will be able to get on the maret any time soon. I envy you, not having to sell your house.

    1. That is good, it took Art a while too before he was ready to start pitching, but now he is.
Hopefully nothing big goes out on the house that we have to repair. After a year we will be selling, to either Dan and Hannah or on the market.

  3. OH the buttons....I did the same thing last weekend. One huge tin is now a small ziplock! Keep the old "western" themed tin to haul with us too... I have envy too on not selling the house...we're sure crossing our fingers we get what we are going to ask. Sounds like a St. Joe burial to me :O)

    1. I ended up with a tiny plastic container with a lid. Did you see my reply to Merikay, after a year we will be selling, either to Hannah and Dan or putting it on the market. If we have to put it on the market at least going through everything here in the house will be done. I sure hope you get out of it what you need and want.

  4. Your dream is getting closer to reality and it's so thoughtful of you for not wanting your kids to have to go through all that stuff when you're gone.
I know of an eccentric woman, and I mean eccentric... She's a collector of everything going and her house is filled to the brim with stuff... When I asked what she was going to do with ALL THAT STUFF, she said "Oh I'll let my son deal with it. It's going to be all his. She is elderly and she still is adding to her collections.

You can keep your snow, we have some we would like to give away, lol
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs.

    1. Oh I know someone like that my daughter's in laws. I feel so sorry for her and my SIL when it comes time to have to go through their house. After going through my parents, there was no way we wanted to leave that to the girls. And they both are being generous to let us store things in their homes. Our snow is melting so don't have to give it away :)

  5. Hazel of Class A Greyhounds...RVing with the big Dogs!March 8, 2013 at 5:30 PM

The Great Dane holding the big toy looks just like my Power in that picture! The dog says "don't forget to play". We humans forget that when we're busy and on a mission!

    1. Yes, I know she does, I have saw that when I see pictures of Power. My husband takes her out and runs her almost every evening before she eats. We have 8 acres here so she gets a work out and she has a soccer ball she loves to chase.

  6. I know the snow can be a real hassle, but it sure is beautiful! I loved living in snow in the Sierra foothills. If I ever live in a stick house again, I'd like it to be on a snowline. Just enough to enjoy, but not too much.

Love the dog with his huge toy! Hazel has stuffed animals for her greyhounds, too, much bigger than Katie's toys, but not that big. :)

    1. You are right it is beautiful, and I used to love it, but now not so much. I am terrified of falling again, a broken shoulder was bad enough I don't want a broken hip. The dogs love stuffed animals. We go to Good Will or garage sales and buy then. They just love to destroy them and if I pay .50 I don't feel too bad. Her toy is bigger than Katie.
