We were up early this am and I made my own Egg McMuffins for our breakfast. Art said they were better than McDonalds. I said sure they were they were made with love. I had a lady comment on my coffee pot and I thought I would share more on it. See Art doesn't like coffee only I do, so making a big pot is a waste for us. So I found this coffee pot that makes one cup at a time. No not a Keurig. It is made by Hamilton Beach. I paid $20 for it. Perfect for me and I have learned to make my own little pouches of coffee because they are too expensive to buy.
I just put my favorite coffee cup under it. How I make my own little filters is I cut down the big ones and then I start to fan fold them over and over until I have a little pouch. Then I put on one scoop of coffee and finish sealing it. It works, and a whole lot cheaper than buying the little filters you see here in the picture.
If later on in the day I want another cup of coffee I just do the routine all over again. Art has made tea in it too. He put a tea bag in the filter holder and wah-lah hot tea.
Guess what we had this morning. Started around 7:30am. You can barely see it in the picture but believe me it was snowing really hard for about 10 minutes. Looked pretty against the trees, and seeing it out different windows. :)
See the white blotches on the trees? Those are snow flakes. |
The dogs and I cleaned the RV this morning. OK, not really they watched and I vacuumed, and rearranged some things already. Funny how when you start loading up you put items here and there, then after you live in here for 2 days, that changes. Then we took the Mini Cooper and drove around the park. It was too cold for the golf cart. We did take a little ride on it though, we just couldn't wait to get back on it.
Cooper loves his new dog bed......my chair. Why on earth would they slept on the floor when they can have a nice big chair. |
Effie made her bed in Art's chair. But she was cold and needed her sweater. Since she is smaller and older than Cooper she tends to be cold more often. |
Had an interesting encounter today. I saw a trailer pull into Southern Point where we were last year. I got out and asked if they were new hosts and they said yes we are Bill and Abbie. I told them I was Tammy Fletcher, and they said the "blogger". We know you, how is your heel? Cool huh??? Really sweet couple looking forward to working with them this summer. They can probably tell me things about myself I have forgotten. :)
We are ready for the cold tonight. I woke up this morning a little cold too. |
I wanted to tell everyone that I have enjoyed all of your comments so much. Just wanted you to know how thoughtful and encouraging you all have been towards us.....and we want to say a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!
From Hardin Ridge we send best wishes and take care everyone!!!
Good for you - making your own coffee pods - I'm too lazy for that. But I love my single cup Keurig. I'd suppose they all pretty much are the same, I just don't want to be making a whole pot of coffee, then only drink one or two cups. Putting a tea bag in is also a great idea - I'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are nicely settling in. :)
I couldn't believe how expensive those little things were. There was no way I was paying that! I am like you a whole pot is way to much for me, it always goes to waste. Art loves hot tea so it works for both of us. Settling in a little everyday.
DeleteWow sounds like your getting settled in and in the swing of things. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel like we are too. Relaxing more today.
Deleteyou seem so much more relaxed today! I always feel better after a good sleep to.
ReplyDeleteYou are right I am. The past few days have been very stressful. But then you are right again, a good nights sleep will make anyone seem more relaxed :)
DeleteI'm cleaning the rv and packing. Tomorrow we leave Lk Mead for Colorado. Can't wait to see snow but I'll be a little sad about leaving. I love this place. Great area to spend winter.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're able to sleep! Have fun!
I am anxious for you to get to Colorado. I am sure they will still have snow. It is hard to leave a place you really love. Maybe you can go back there next year. Thanks me too. Having fun yes we are. Safe travels to you.
DeleteHooray for a good night's sleep!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that! It does wonders for a body!
DeleteGlad the foam pad worked, always great to get a good night's sleep!
ReplyDeleteI am glad too. I don't know what we would do if it didn't. Sleep in the chairs I guess. Sleep...we kind of need it for sure.
Deleteyay sleep! outstanding, Tammy ... you're on your way! your dogs are so cute. and great idea about the coffee...
ReplyDeletehaha the deer think you're paparazzi ... hahaaa
Carolyn you are funny. Thank you we sure love them. And thanks about the coffee. I love that little maker.
DeleteWho knows what they think but they sure are not coming around yet. I miss them!!
Tammy, I glad that you got a good night sleep with the memory foam and that you are starting to feel more at ease. I love the little one cup coffee pot for the RV. It's nice that you can make your own little filters. Speedy healing of your heel.
ReplyDeleteYou'll probably run into other bloggers who knows you from your blog. It's cool meeting bloggers.
Take car and stay safe.
Hugs,
JB
Thank you Julia. Yes, feeling more at ease, that causes me to relax. It is so cool meeting bloggers, my first time. Ya! I was so pleased I was able to come up with the little filters myself, saves $$$$.
DeleteEvery time I click on your blog and see the beautiful red cardinal I get a warm glow of happiness. I'm glad the mattress topper worked. My 5th wheel mattress (NuWa Hitchhiker) was pretty comfortabler, but then I sometimes slept on the pull out couch and found it comfortable too. (I always gave my bed to the pregnant ladies and those with young babies & kids.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you do, but you know now I won't be able to change my header photo. LOL
DeleteThose pull out couches are comfortable. Ours has the blow up mattress, I told Art we should have gotten up and slept on it. I remember you saying that about your bed in your blog. So thoughtful.
Amazing what a good night's sleep can do for you. Glad the toppers worked well for you. Now you just need some warmer weather and life will be perfect! P.S. thanks for sharing your chairs with the fur kids!!
ReplyDeleteIt is isn't it? Me too, I don't think I could have taken another night of no sleep. The weather is supposed to be up to 61 this weekend. Hooray! Oh your welcome, but do we have a choice. ha ha
DeleteWouldn't have it any other way :)
Almost all RV beds just have to have that topper to be bearable. Glad things are smoothing out. Dachsies will be the first to tell you that they are just not floor dogs. They like soft and comfortable chairs preferably with a blanket. Oh, yeah, it really doesn't matter how warm it is, they still like blankies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Collen. Yes, you are right they love their blankets. Effie has her own and Cooper has his own. They aren't spoiled now are they? You would know too :)
DeleteI am having so much fun reading your blog as fulltimers! How cool is that? Carry on - keep on truckin' ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Cyn, I am having fun sharing too. Finally, fulltimers, hard to believe. WE will.
DeleteWhat a good nights sleep can do for your day! Never thought about making my own pods. Looking forward to the warmer temps this week...sounds like lots more golf cart rides :)
ReplyDeleteYes, for sure it does make the next day go so well. I didn't either until I saw the price of theirs. :-0
DeleteYes, we are supposed to be up to 61 this weekend. You bet lots more golf cart rides. Maybe we will see a deer!!!
